Tinea/Pitryriasis Versicolor is common yeast infection.caused by Mallessezia Furfur and Pitrosporum Orbiculare(its spore form).It has a fairly gigh prevalence in this part of the world.The varied clinical presentation of P.V. makes it an important differential diagnostic entity in lots of maculopapular and pigmentory skin eruptions.
It is most common yeast infection in tropics usually effecting young adults.
Heat,humidity and over perspiration predispose.
Virulance of organism versus immunity of the patient,plays an important role.
Fine scales present.
Occasianal itching,but mostly asymptomatic.
In fair skin,it is yellowish/brown and in darker skin,it is hypopigmented.
