What does SPF mean?

Broad Spectrum sunscreens, which are recommended for the best protection, are those that block both UVA and UVB rays.Physical sunscreens contain titanium dioxide and/or zinc oxide, which reflect and scatter UVB and UVA rays.
The SPF or sun protection factor of a sunscreenrates its ability to ward off UVB rays. There is currently no universally approved rating system for UVA protection.A sunscreen with an SPF of between 15 and 30 is adequate for daily protection. An SPF 15 product filters not more than 93% of UVB rays ,and an SPF 30 product filters out more than 97% of UVB rays.
